Legal protection insurance — let the policy carry much of the cost
If you end up in a dispute, the legal protection cover in Swedish home insurance usually pays a significant part of your legal fees. We help you apply and represent you throughout the process.
Cover included in your policy
Legal protection is part of most Swedish home, villa and business insurance policies. The insurer reimburses a large share of the cost of your legal counsel in disputes that can be heard by a general court or an arbitration tribunal.
Cover is normally capped at a maximum amount — often between SEK 200,000 and 300,000 — after a deductible of 20–25 per cent of the cost, plus a basic deductible.

- • Division of property, inheritance and other family law disputes
- • Disputes between shareholders or with suppliers (business policies)

What needs to be in place
You need a valid home, villa or business policy and normally to have been insured for at least two years, with your current insurer or another without interruption.
The dispute must be capable of being heard by a district court, court of appeal, the Supreme Court or an arbitration tribunal. Matters handled by administrative authorities are normally excluded.
The dispute must not have arisen before the policy was taken out, and certain matters — such as divorce within the first year — are excluded.
